The SRE Agent skill is a short guide that an AI agent reads before it works with your organization. It teaches the agent how to connect the MCP server, which kind of tool to call for which job, how scopes, deletes and plan limits behave, how to work a Fix with Claude handoff from brief to report, and how to reach the configuration API, webhooks and Terraform export. It is a usage guide, not a tool list: the agent asks the server for exact arguments, and every tool is in the MCP reference. Business plan The skill is free to install. The MCP server and the configuration API it describes need the Business plan, so on a lower plan the agent learns the server exists and relays the “not included in your plan” answer instead of retrying.

Install it in Claude Code

1

Add the marketplace

In Claude Code, run:
2

Install the plugin

The plugin carries one skill, sre-agent. Claude loads it when a task mentions SRE Agent, alerts, runbooks, SLOs, on-call or a fix handoff.
3

Connect the server

The skill explains the connection, and you supply the credential. Create an API key or a personal access token as described in MCP tools, keep it in an environment variable, and add the server:
The skill never contains a key. Keep your key in an environment variable or a secret store, never in a file you commit or a prompt you paste.

Use it with another agent

The skill is plain Markdown. Copy SKILL.md into whatever your agent reads for instructions, such as an AGENTS.md file or a Cursor rule. Any client that speaks MCP over HTTP can use the same endpoint and Authorization header.

What the agent learns

Keep it current

The skill is rebuilt from the server’s own tool list at every release, so it names the tools the server really has, and a pull request updates the skills repository whenever the skill changed. Claude Code does not refresh a third-party marketplace on its own by default. Run /plugin marketplace update sre-agent-skills to pull the latest, or turn on auto-update for the marketplace under Marketplaces in /plugin.
