# Update the overseer settings

> Change one or more of the Control Tower's settings; omitted ones keep their value. Turning the overseer on schedules its first run straight away, which is what the page's save does. Hourly and every_6h are the top plan's alone: every plan below it is refused and floors at daily or weekly. Needs the Control Tower.

A resource-shaped endpoint onto the same tool surface the MCP server
(/api/mcp) reaches. Every gate, refusal and audit row a caller sees here is
the exact one the MCP endpoint answers for the same tool. Authenticated with
an API key holding the api:admin scope, or the read-only api:config_read
    scope for GET alone.
