# Update the notification settings

> Change one or more email notification settings; omitted ones keep their value. recipients and muted_events each REPLACE the stored list, so send the whole list you want (and [] to empty it). A category toggle switched off silences its events whatever the mute list says. The events that can be muted are: alert_created, automation_approval, automation_completed, automation_failed, integration_failing, investigation_completed, investigation_failed, quota_warning, security_finding, slo_breach, slo_budget, slo_burn_rate, slo_tracking_failure, status_incident. This write is last-writer-wins: the Settings page carries a stamp that refuses a save made against values another admin has since changed, and this tool has none, so read the settings again if you are acting on something you were told a while ago.
